Description of Error:

The following error appears when attempting to Refresh or Save information on the ESC Mobile Laptop Client:

There is a unspecified error while logging in. There was an error processing mobile changes. Error: Error changing status:Dispatch has been change by another user. Can not modify dispatch. Area:Iterating through Dispatches - Status Changes.

Cause of Error:

A dispatch that was assigned to the technician was reassigned in ESC. When the laptop client tries to update the dispatch based on the information entered by the technician, ESC is unable to find the original record.

Resolution:

To fix the immediate error, delete the bad data file from the mobile client using this procedure.

  1. Exit the ESC Laptop Mobile Client.
  2. From the Windows desktop, click Start → Run.
  3. Type %appdata% and click OK.
  4. Double click the ESC Mobile Client for Windows folder in the resulting window.
  5. Delete the Dispatch.xml file and try to launch the ESC Laptop Client again.
  6. Click Refresh.

Additional Information:

To prevent this from happening again, please do not reassign dispatches that have already been downloaded on the mobile device. ESC will warn you when you attempt to do this by asking:

The dispatch you are modifying has already been downloaded to a mobile device. Are you sure you wish to modify it?

Select Cancel when that message appears and you will not have any issues.
