Access is denied when connecting to Peachtree/Sage 50

Description of Error:

When attempting to connect the ESC Accounting Server to a Peachtree or Sage 50 database, the following error is returned when the retrieve button is selected or direct connect is tried:

Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005
(E_ACCESSDENIED)

Cause of Error:

During the very first attempt to integrate the ESC Accounting Server with Peachtree/Sage 50, a user will receive the prompt: "Do you want to allow Coastal Computer Corporation to run with your Peachtree Software?" If the option "No" is selected here and the "Remember this setting" box was checked, Peachtree/Sage 50 essentially has been coded to never allow the ESC Accounting Server to ever connect and returns the stated error each time.

Resolution:

To allow the ESC Accounting Server to properly integrate with Peachtree,Sage 50 log into the Peachtree/Sage 50 database and click on Options→Global→General Tab. In this screen click on the RESET button for the option "Reset all one-time messages" and click OK. Restart the ESC Accounting Server and click on the Retrieve button and it will again return the initial permissions message which a user should click YES to and ensure that the "Remember this settings" option was also enabled. Now clicking on the Connect button will allow the connection server to properly integrate with Peachtree/Sage 50.
