ESC Accounting uses the “ACCRUAL BASIS” of accounting:
We show all income earned during a fiscal period, even though the income is not yet received and all expenses incurred during a fiscal period, even though the expenses are not yet paid. In other words, we show all income and all expenses in the fiscal period in which they occur.

The basic two principles of double entry accounting are:
The total value of the things a business owns (its assets) are equal to the total claims against those assets. Those claims are divided into liabilities (claims against the assets by the creditors) and capital (ownership of assets by the company).
The debits must equal the credits in each transaction.

Hence the fundamental accounting equation is: ASSETS = LIABLITITIES + CAPITAL
