How Do I Import 'The New Flat Rate'

Follow

Importing The New Flat Rate into Electronic Service Control will allow you to utilize their inventory items and information within ESC for purchasing, tracking, quoting and invoicing.

Once you have purchased The New Flat Rate inventory list and/or price books, you will receive an email with several files that need to be imported into ESC.

  1. First, save all files contained within their email onto your desktop so that they are easy for you to find.
  2. Open your Application Data folder for ESC:
    1. Open your Start menu/screen.
    2. Locate the "Search..." field at the bottom or just start typing.
    3. Type %appdata% and hit the Enter key on your keyboard.
    4. In the window that appears, open the ESC folder.
  3. Copy these files into the ESC Application Data folder: Koop1, Koop2, Koop3, Koop4.
  4. Next, create a new folder on your C:\ drive called "ESC Data".
  5. Move the "The New Flat Rate - ESC Import - 1.6.12.txt" file into the "C:\ESC Data" directory you just created. (Note: the numbers in this file name may vary.)

Now that you have your files setup correctly, it is time to run the import.

  1. Have all users log out of your Electronic Service Control database.
  2. Log into Electronic Service Control as ADMIN.
  3. Go to File → Import/Export → ASCII Import Utility.
  4. Click on "Koop1 - InvCat.DWZ" in the list and then click Import. When the import completes, you may close the import status screen.
  5. Click on "Koop2 - InvSCat.DWZ" in the list and then click Import. When the import completes, you may close the import status screen.
  6. Click on "Koop3 - Inven.DWZ" in the list and then click Import. When the import completes, you may close the import status screen.
  7. Click on "Koop4 - FRP.DWZ" in the list and then click Import. When the import completes, you may close the import status screen.

All users may now log back into Electronic Service Control and you may now begin using your new flat rate inventory items in all modules.
