ESC and all its related programs depend on the computer they are installed on using the United States date format. After switching the computer to the US date format, the ESC Connections Server may still give you various date errors that show that it is still using the Canadian date format.
These errors can also manifest in the mobile clients themselves by displaying the following error:
Unknown Error Type: There was an error requesting MobileDispatchListRequest: Operation is not allowed when the object is closed.
Cause of Issue:
The ESC Connections Server is a service that is generally set to run in a different environment space than your current logon. Changing the date format under your Windows logon does not change the enrivornment the service runs in.
Resolution:
The best way to fix this problem is to set all date formats to use the US standard. This can be accomplished as follows in Vista:
- Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Regional and Language Options.
- On the Regional Options tab change the date format to use US standards. This would show November, 26 2009 in the Short Date field as 11/26/2009.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click the Apply all settings to the current user account and to the default user profile button.
- Click OK.
- Reboot or restart the ESC Connections Server service.
Here is how you would do it in Windows 7:
- Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Regional and Language Options.
- On the Regional Options tab change the date format to use US standards. This would show November, 26 2009 in the Short Date field as 11/26/2009.
- Click the Administrative tab.
- Click the Copy Settings button.
- Copy the settings from the current user account to the default user profile.
- Click OK.
- Reboot or restart the ESC Connections Server service.
For Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, the instructions are as follows:
- Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Region.
- On the Format tab change the date format to use US standards. This would show November, 26 2009 in the Short Date field as 11/26/2009.
- Click the Administrative tab.
- Click the Copy Settings button.
- Copy the settings from the current user account to the 'Welcome screen and system accounts' as well as 'New user accounts'.
- Click OK.
- Reboot or restart the ESC Connections Server service.
