Welcome to the Industry Best Practices board!
Hello everyone!
The goal is to have a corner of the community set aside to you as an outlet to reach out to other dESCO users from around the country. Feel free to introduce yourselves below in the comments or create your own thread if you’re looking to meet a particular industry that uses the product (HVAC, Plumbing, Contracting, IT, etc) or a particular region (Florida, Texas, etc). This is a great forum to post your industry specific questions on how other dESCO users perform certain functions in the software.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team: ScottH@desco-soft.com

KELLY! You're the best! Glad to see you on here, my friend. Thank you for getting involved and helping us build a beautiful and powerful home for our dESCO family and friends!!!!
Hi, I'm Kelly- I work for a Commercial Bakery/Restaurant Service company in Maryland. I am so excited to see this forum, not only will it help alleviate the support team from my constant questioning(LOL), but I feel as though there are attributes to this program that many people may not be aware of that many of us have found while using it. Also, being able to give my input towards new ideas to put into the program is a huge plus!
Happy Learning!!!
Hello Everyone! I'm a loyal dESCO fan and user of ESC for an HVAC company in Ohio. I'm always looking for and learning new ways to use ESC. Love, love, love the entire dESCO team and look forward to building relationships with others in my Industry.
Hi, I'm Adam. I work in the HVAC industry in Michigan.
Two of our chat regulars! Welcome to the boards, Wendy and Adam. So glad to see you guys!
Hi Adam! Nice to see a fellow HVAC person in the group!
Hi Scott - hope all is well with you :)
Hello Wendy. Thank you for responding. I have been asking for a user group in our industry as I am new to the business. Hopefully we will be able to share ideas to make ESC better for everyone.
Hi Scott. I love the Wayne's World reference. Almost party time.
Adam - feel free to reach out to me anytime!
ALL: Any other HVAC people out there? If so, join us!
Hello,
My Name is Camille from an HVAC company in Virginia. Would love to here how other companies are making ESC work for them.
Good morning everyone,
My name is Jim and i'm in the HVAC industry in Michigan. We have been using esc since about 2006/2007 back at version 8. We love it and use the mobile for our techs as well as the desktop in the office. I love the improvements over the years and versions. They are some things i think could be a little better and some things or features that i think we could all benefit from. I have spoken to support and given plenty of feedback. Hoping some of the features and suggestions eventually make it into the software. I am happy to try and help others with minor issues that don't necessarily require support that i have figured out with and without the help of support. Keep us the awesome work dEsco team. Let's, as a community, help them improve and build on this awesome product.
Hi everyone!
We're an HVAC and electrical contractor in Florida. Looking forward to sharing our ESC workflow.
Jim,
Welcome aboard. Glad to here from someone else in Michigan. Our business is on the Southwest side of the state.
Thank you Adam,
We are located in Southeastern Michigan. Roseville to be exact. We are a leadership dealer for Carrier about 15 to 20 minutes Northeast of Detroit.
Hi.
Looking forward to learning and hearing about processes - especially inventory related practices.
We have a lot of new faces here! Welcome to the boards, guys, glad to see you!
Hello,
I am with an HVAC company in southwestern Idaho. Looking forward to the community section!
Hey Chance! Thanks for joining the Community! This is an exciting time for all of us, so glad to have you with us!
Hello!
I work for a Locksmith and Security Company in S. CA. We also do Access Control, Camera Systems, Alarms, Safes and Vaults, etc.
I've been managing our ESC installation since late 2006. We have 9 seats for ESC and that's generally enough. And no Scott, we don't need any more, thank you. I just need to get people to log out of the company when they are done.
We have implemented a complete inventory system in ESC including Main Stock, 7 vans, and a bunch of staging areas for large or long term jobs. If anyone is thinking of doing this, I strongly recommend one of the one or two day seminars on inventory and cycle counting.
Welcome everyone.
Hi Everyone,
We are a plumbing company on the West Coast. We have been stalking DESCO for a year and in May we went live. The team at DESCO is the best! Shout out to Randy who came to work with us for two days. That was definitely worth it.
Lisa!
Thank you for your kind words, you truly humble us.
This is why I love my job! We are very lucky to have the team we do and Randy is no exception. He is a wizard at helping teach the software in a relaxed and knowledgeable way. He is the reason many of us (myself included) are as versed as we are in the software.
So glad you had such an experience, we'll be sure to keep it up!
Wow Lisa, how'd you swing that. You must be better looking than me. : )
But I agree. Although I have issues and may complain occasionally, they do a great job with service.
Relaxed Randy. That is a great description of his approach.
Hey Everyone,
We are an HVAC and commercial refrigeration company on the Outer Banks. We have been using ESC for years. I'm so happy DESCO has provided a way to communicate with other users. I’m very comfortable using ESC but already I have learned new things by reading some of the threads. DESCO support is awesome and have been able to help me every time I needed them. So thank you support team!!!
Welcome to the Community Christina! There's a lot of great dialog evolving on the community, you'll love it! And thank you, we certainly do our best!
Hi All,
My name is Marcia and I, too, am new to the HVAC Industry. However, I have vast experience in small business administration(general contracting), accounting, taxation and QB I am a new user of ESC recently hired to support an HVAC/Restoration Company in Dulles/Sterling VA. I would welcome an opportunity to speak with Camille, Wendy, or Adam to learn more about ESC's best practice to configure/setup and implement ESC with QB integration specific to the HVAC Industry. Please note, I have gone through the ESC getting started tutorials. I'm looking forward to learning ESC and eventually contributing to the community.
Welcome to the Community Marcia!
The best thing to do, to get started on the community, is to do just what you've already done - Post and Comment! So happy to see you!
Hi Marcia. Our company uses Sage 50 Quantum as our Accounting system and it really is a different beast than Quick books. I think ESC integrates better with Quick Books than Sage. I highly recommend you send someone to their training class. The tutorials are great, but there were a lot of things that came up during that class that would have been helpful to know before we implemented certain processes, (i.e inventory). You need to have a strong training program for you employees in place as well. We struggled with keeping everyone consistent in how they utilized the system at first. ESC has a lot of bells and whistles.
Camille,
It's a pleasure to meet you and I appreciate the response. Training would be great, however, the company is small and training is not in the current budget. In the interim I will be continuing to learn ESC through webcast and chat. I am thankful for the experience I have over the years with similar based software training. Net Suite so far is my favorite software solution, next to customized Salesforce solutions. Thank you.
Hello Everyone,
My Name is John and also from Idaho. Hello to the fellow Idahoan Chance. We are a fairly large HVAC company in the Treasure Valley area. We have used ESC for many many years. We are just now starting to learn how POWERFUL the program truly is. For so many years we used it for dispatch only. We just updated to Version 15 this week and LOVE IT. Also, we went mobile and paperless almost one year ago to the date.
I’m excited to learn all I can to become even more efficient.
Hi John! We're humbled to hear your team is enjoying the version 15 update - that's awesome! Welcome to the community, and thank you for investing your time into this great opportunity in growing our online dESCO family!
