Sales Reps on ESC
We are in the process of transitioning our sales reps from their previous from of scheduling and generating estimates to ESC. We are looking to see if anyone does this or has tried this in the past and has any positive or negative feedback?

If you are talking about scheduling the sales people in ESC, unless you are the owner or GM and are willing to use a bull whip, my experience is that is is a major pain in the tail.. You end up with a whole lot of incomplete dispatches with questionable data, and eventually they slow down the system and cause problems. However, if you choose to implement it, I'd suggest that you have your dispatcher or a manager enter the dispatches and have the sales people call on and off the jobs just like a tech.
The quotation system in ESC works great, we use it for all quoted work. The data flows through to your dispatches (as long as you create the dispatch from the quote) and to the invoices as well.
If changes happen during the installation or service, I'd suggest not updating the quote. This will give you a history of what was quoted, what the tech did, and what actually go invoiced. If more parts are needed, add them to the dispatch.
Hope this helps!
