History code quantity
Recently we have noticed that you can no longer adjust the history code quantity on the mobile client. If a technician completes 5 of the same codes on a site, he currently has to enter each code individually. Is this something that you can/will update in the future?
Thank you!

Hi Jamie and thanks for posting on the Community! You'll find a lot of helpful users, just like you, chatting about all things ESC!

History Codes, by their nature, are just used as notes and form the History of your customers. They were not designed with quantities in mind. But there's ways to get what you want, we just need to make sure it's setup correctly.
Here's how you'll want to approach this...
Go to Sales | Enter Billing Codes | look for DESC (or click Add new so we can make it) and click Edit.
The image above shows a Billing Code, that will not impact your financials, but can have a quantity adjusted.
Note: I specifically setup the Cost Debit/Cost Credit to be the same account so that they have no impact on financials at all. But, to be realistic, you could just leave these both blank.
The objective here is the ability to still capture history AND adjust a quantity on Mobile, and this will do just that.
Thank you for the quick response. Unfortunately, we are not interested in using billing codes as history codes. Our quality department uses the history codes for quality purposes. At some point in time (2010) the history codes were designated with quantities in mind but somehow that changed. I think it would a great benefit to have quantities available again on the mobile client. To have a technician enter the same code multiple times is very time consuming. Thank you!
You're welcome Jamie, thank you for your feedback.
Hey Scott. Bear in mind that we have a request in to make sure that the desc code can't have a quantity as it messes up invoices when they spontaneously appear. : )
Good to know. Then instead of using DESC just make a new Code for this objective and give it a different name. Interesting though, hadn't heard about the Desc code issue.
