We create lunch dispatches and track it that way. We have a status code for lunch which shows a working status and then lunch end completes it for the day. The dispatcher assigns them normally for two weeks at a time.
We generally ignore it. We have 7 techs in vans who we can trust to not take advantage. So generally there will be a gap in their day where they take lunch.
Technically if they are on a full day job, they should take themselves off job for lunch and back on. Sometimes it happens.
I've considered doing a Company > Lunch location and assigning the techs to it, but we don't have a problem so far and it's extra work for the techs and dispatch to handle.

Hope this helps.
